SAVE THE DATE: 2025 Fix-It Days​

Our Fix-It Days season has wrapped up for 2024, but we are  already scheduling our 2025 events and can't wait to connect with you there! Save the date for our upcoming roster of events this year.

Fix-It Days are community events dedicated to repairing broken items. Bring your items for our skilled volunteers to fix, mend, and sharpen. These events were initiated by Transition Fidalgo over a decade ago. Our community "fixers" volunteer their time and expertise, boasting a repair success rate of over 90%! While repairs are donation-based, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Donations are crucial, as they cover the operating costs and keep this program running. Your contributions make Fix-It Days possible! Repairs are first come, first serve at our events.

When are Fix-It days? 

Typically they are 9:00 am – 2:00 pm, Saturdays (May through September), at the Depot, 7th St. and R Ave. We are expanding our events for 2025 and have a few events outside of our Anacortes Farmers Market dates.

Does Transition offer Fix-It services at other times?

We don't normally offer fix-it services outside of our above events, but please reach out to Katrina@transitionfidalgo.org if you have a project! Occasionally some of our volunteers can take on projects outside of our events.

Why Does This Program Exist?

Our mission is to breathe new life into broken items and divert repairable waste from landfills. Between 2000 and 2021, solid waste generation increased by nearly 71% (Department of Ecology). It’s clear we have a waste problem. Many of the items that end up in the landfill, are not because they are unfixable, but because the new version came out.

 

We believe the best way to address the waste problem is by offering repair services and raising awareness about the impacts of an unsustainable consumer culture.
