Thanks for being interested in FutureFest!
FutureFest is a free Earth Day weekend celebration and community brainstorming session on how we want our future to look.

Sprinkled with lots of fun and creativity, our goal is to end the weekend with several baby project plans and a list of people interested in seeing them to fruition for each.

Our partners include the Anacortes Music Project and the Museum of Northwest Art.

Sarah van Gelder is our keynote speaker. Sarah co-founded the award-winning YES! Magazine in 1996. She writes for YES! and also for the Guardian, Huffington Post, and speaks internationally and is a guest on radio and television.

Her topic: the work that we the people are doing to reinvent our economy, grow local foods, solve the climate challenge, create alternatives to prisons, and more.

Sarah lives on the Suquamish Tribe’s reservation, where she collaborated with tribal leaders to secure the return of the land where Chief Seattle lived. She also paddles with the tribe on their annual canoe journey. Sarah has lived in India, China, and Central America. She was a founding board member and resident of Winslow Cohousing.

The Museum of Northwest Art in LaConner and will be organizing our art show! Watch for more details soon.


AMP is beginning to create our song-writing contest, and will run sound for us all weekend. More details coming soon. Sing us the future you want to build!
